Properties and uses of zinc chloride
Properties:white granular,rod or powder,odorless,easy to absorb moisture,and the solubility in water is 432g at 25℃and 614g at 100℃.1g is soluble in 0.25ml 2%hydrochloric acid,1.3ml ethanol and 2ml glycerol,easily soluble in acetone,and produced by adding a large amount of water aerobic zinc chloride.The aqueous solution is acidic to litmus,pH is about 4,relative density is 2.907,melting point is about 290℃,boiling point is 732℃,toxic,and the median lethal dose(rat,vein)is 60~90mg/kg,corrosive.
Purpose:testing secondary alcohol,organic synthetic dehydrating agent,catalyst and condensation agent.
Safety measures:
Store in a cool and dry place,away from fire and heat source.It is stored separately with oxidants and edible chemicals.Pay attention to personal protection.Direct contact with the body is strictly prohibited.In case of skin(eye)contact,rinse with flowing water.
